This site contains a collection of images I have taken in the USA, and from my homeland, Scotland.

Photography has become a passion for me, which remains funded by my day job – a day job which takes up a vast amount of my time! I don’t necessarily want to share only my best images. Some of the images in my galleries represent shots that have more of a personal meaning to me; images that I simply couldn’t resist sharing.

Having left Scotland after graduating from university, I spent a number of years living in Cambridgeshire, England, before I was fortunate enough to be transferred to an office in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was in Louisiana, working on the Hurricane Katrina disaster recovery efforts, that my teenage interest in photography returned with a vengeance. I was lucky enough to visit New York, California and Arizona, whilst spending some considerable amount of time in North Carolina and on the Gulf of Mexico coast. A visit to China and several visits home to Scotland have given me ample opportunity to learn the art of digital photography and to identify my preferred type of photography.

I have explored a number of different styles of photography since 2007, starting with a short lived interest in candid street photography. I soon realized I did not really have a great passion for it and that my results were not particularly impressive. I slowly, but surely, found my niche in landscape and architectural photography, particularly using long exposure and HDR techniques. Capturing the fine details of the endless examples of Americana, and any other details which collectively define a region also caught my interest. You will find this most prevalent in my New Orleans photography galleries, where, as much as anything, I attempted to document the city to serve as a timeless reminder of 5 great years there.
